According to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On guarantees of equal rights and opportunities for women and men”, about 200 advisory councils on issues of equal rights and opportunities for women and men have been established in higher education institutions. Today, 1450 members are working in these advisory councils.
Yesterday, a group of Rectors’ advisers on women’s issues, who are doing exemplary work in higher education institutions, were invited to the upper chamber of the Parliament. Chairman of the Senate Women and Gender Equality Committee M. Kadirkhanova and Senator G. Marufova hold a meeting with them and the participants got acquainted with the activities of the Senate.
At the meeting, a comprehensive program of measures for the implementation of the strategy for achieving gender equality in 2024, including improving the legal framework aimed at ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men, forming the skills of women to implement scientific and startup ideas, and their scientific -wide involvement in innovative activities have been discussed.
Kholmatova Gulhayo Azimjonovna, adviser of the Rector of Andijan State Medical Institute on Women’s Issues was awarded the HONORARY LABEL of the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for her exemplary activities in the field of women’s issues in our republic, her activity in establishing systematic work on issues of ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men.
