May 21 – Librarians’ Day
The book is not only a source of knowledge, but also means of sowing the seeds of goodness in the human heart. In this context, the state pays special attention to the development of this industry, creating a wide range of opportunities and conditions.
On June 7, 2019, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan adopted a resolution «On further improving the provision of information and library services to the population of the Republic of Uzbekistan.» This resolution is of particular importance in further intensifying the measures taken in our country to pay attention to reading and develop the activities of libraries.
While the dedicated work of the library staff is inconspicuous, they also play an important role in educating people.
The library of Andijan State Medical Institute which is the leading medical university in Fergana Valley,I. e. the Information Resource Center is always full of professors, teachers, Master students, clinical residents, students and other users.
The information resource center is comfortable, light and fully equipped with the necessary modern equipment.
Currently, the management of the institute has purchased a risograph for the IRC, and work is underway to publish the literature created by professors and teachers.
The program «ARMAT ++» is installed by the specialist of the Center for the introduction of e-learning of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The IRC electronic database contains 249,366 resources. With the current demand for online reading, IRC has become more convenient for users.
Special mention should be made of the selfless work of the director of the center M.Ahmedova, head of the department G.Tadjiboeva, leading librarian D.Umurzakova, methodologist N.Djalilova, librarians M.Teshaboeva, M.Mannopova and employee M.Mahmudova in the development of the IRC of the Institute.
Thanks to the effective work of the team, this year the IRC book fund reaches 218,262 copies in 27,057 titles.
